Sasin Celebrate the 27th anniversary with good memory

Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University, on September 15th, 2009, celebrated its 27th anniversary with a number of alumni and staffs participating the full-day event.

The religious ceremony started from 10.00 at Royal Hall with some 40 alumni events including Mr. Prasarn Bhiraj Buri (EMBA1987), the President of Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center (BITEC). The morning session ended at 12.00 as guests had lunch together at Sasa Canteen.

The afternoon session began at 13.00 and Sasin Director Professor Toemsakdi Krishnamra presented awards and recognition to prominent and long-serving staff.

 
Particiapted by about 200 alumni, highlights of the event started at 14.15 with the presentation of Toemsakdi Awards to prominent students and faculty member. Assistant Professor Dr. Krittinee Nuttavuthisit received the Toemsakdi Award for the most prominent lecturer.

Professor Toemsakdi announced the formation of Sasin Executive Council comprising Prof Donald P. Jacobs, dean emeritus (1975-2001) of Kellogg School of Management, and director emeritus of Sasin, Prof Dipak C. Jain, dean emeritus (2001-2009) of Kellogg School of Management, Kellogg-Sasin Programme Coordinator (1994-present) and director emeritus of Sasin, and Prof Toemsakdi Krishnamra, rector emeritus (1975-1977) of Chulalongkorn University, and director of Sasin (1982-present).

Professor Toemsakdi said the world economy in this millennium has become more complex and demanding, perhaps due to the effects of three primary factors: globalisation, increased competition among new business schools, and a surge in demand for human capital and skills development.

Professor Dr. Donald P. Jacobs spoke via a VCR taken from Kellogg School of Management followed by the speech of Professor Dr. Dipak C. Jain, and the the signing ceremony of Declaration of Intent.

 
 
At 15.15, European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD)'s Director General and CEO Professor Eric Cornuel had a special talk on "Social Responsibility : Tasks Ahead for Business and Business Schools"

The talk had dynamic participation from the audiences as it ended almost 17.00 with fruitful knowledge and results.
